FRTA Access Program

DOES THE FIXED BUS ROUTE SCHEDULE NOT MEET YOUR NEEDS?

The FRTA is now offering self-scheduling of your transportation up to one week in advance to the General Public!

Using our mobile app or our online web portal, you may schedule your own transportation within the following four zones-

  • Zone 1 – Deerfield, Erving, Gill, Greenfield, Leyden, Montague and Whately
  • Zone 2 – Erving, New Salem, Orange, Warwick and Wendell
  • Zone 3 – Arms Library in Shelburne Falls or the Charlemont Park and Ride  
  • Zone 4 – Athol Hospital, Athol YMCA and Market Basket Plaza
  • Zone 5 – South County Senior Center (Sunderland) & Sugarloaf Estates

Services are offered from 5:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. Monday through Friday

and

9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays

 There are certain restrictions that apply. Please contact FRTA for more information, for example:

You can travel between Zone 1 or 2 and Zone 5 but cannot travel between Zone 3 & 5 or 4 & 5.  Fares remain consistent with travel between Zone 1 or 2 and Zone 5 at $4.00 per one-way trip and $2.00 for each additional rider.  

All rides are $3.00 to $4.00 per one-way trip

(all additional riders are $1.50 to $2.00)

All passengers are required to wear seatbelts in accordance with Massachusetts General Laws unless there is documentation of a medical condition that prohibits their use.   Refusal to wear seatbelt will be documented by the driver and the FRTA will not be held liable for injury as a result of this. Children must also be in a car seat.
